My Story

Ann Marie O Neill - Cabra

Well where do I start. When I was asked to write this I didn't know what to say, but then I remembered that this was one of many things DCY has taught me. It has taught me to give my opinion and say what I think should be said and nobody will laugh. I know it's taking a long time but I'm getting there.

When I first heard about a DCY group in Cabra I really wanted to join because some members of DCY came and did evening prayer with some students in school while we were fasting for Oxfam. I really enjoyed that prayer. Sr. Colette started a group up in December '95 and in March '96 we went to Glendalough. After that I've never looked back.

DCY has so much to offer people. There is such a strong friendship there and it's one big community although sometimes it doesn't feel like it, but it's there.

DCY was such an eye-opener for me. It's helped me grow in faith and in life. At the moment the big thing is the community, prayer, friendship (Ammo) and the buzz. I'm hoping it will grow-only time will tell.
